Set of 2 Lithographie Equestre bridge playing cards
Set of 2 decks of bridge playing cards with 54 cards
- Silver-edged cards
- Printed paper and cardboard base
Made in France
Designed by Gianpaolo Pagni
Dimensions: L 8.8 x W 5.7 cm
The story behind
Gianpaolo Pagni's "Lithographie Equestre" design was inspired by a set of images from the manufacture of François Desfeuilles, onetime engraver and publisher of popular prints in Nancy. In particular, Gianpaolo Pagni's series draws on a gallery of real or imaginary sovereigns – such as Frederick III, Henry IV and Margaret of France – most of whom are depicted on horseback. Using his famed stamping technique, Gianpaolo Pagni then decorated these cards with brightly colored flat tints that lend a surprising and joyful feel to this new bridge set.
