The story behind
At 24 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, you'll find a small illustrated glossary to help you brush up on classic carriages, from the buggy to the English cart, coupé, dogcart, and phaeton. The letter P also stands for "palonnier" in French: the crosspiece of a horse-drawn carriage used to attach the horses' traces. Securely fastened like this, it inspired Hugo Grygkar in 1948 to create this perfectly geometric scarf with skill and dexterity. A true high-wire act.
