The story behind
In Belgium's Saint-Gilles district, architect Victor Horta (1861-1947) created and designed his entire House and workshop. After visiting this building, a true testament to Art Nouveau, and discovering its “whiplash line”, designer Pierre Marie was inspired to create this scarf with architectural lines. Seen from above, the staircase's curves and arabesques echo the floral motifs of the mosaics and stained-glass windows of the period. With one hand on the banister, we descend the steps of this design to an almost surreal perspective.
