The story behind
Sleek, compact design and sophisticated assembly are the signatures of the Equis d’Hermes collection by Rafael Moneo.
Ethereal and architectural, the chair and table originally designed in 1961 were not manufactured for the first time until 2016.
The table top and legs are attached with wooden corner braces, while brushed brass rods structure the piece. The seat and back of the chairs are covered with hand-stitched leather borrowing from Hermes saddlery expertise.
Equis means "X" in Spanish, a nod to the origins of the designer as well as the metal structure of the seat and the equestrian world of Hermes.
