Cheval d'Orient cup n°1, mini model
Cup in porcelain
Decorations are screen-printed and applied by hand using a gold thread.
The Cheval d'Orient collection pays tribute to Hermès' equestrian heritage, evoking the silk caravans and conviviality of the Orient, inspired by 15th and 16th century Persian miniatures. The design is a testament to technical ingenuity: utilizing a palette of 29 colors, meticulously applied to each unique design spanning across the 55 pieces, the collection is tailored for every occasion lunch, dinner, tea/coffee and includes decorative objects. Cheval d'Orient revisits the classic shapes and dimensions of Western tableware, such as a cup on a pedestal or an elegant tureen with open handles.

The story behind
Free and happy, the horses gallop across the steppe, crossing wooded hills. Dressed in shimmering-colored ceremonial blankets, they seem to have escaped from a Persian fairy tale. Around them, flower seeds and polychrome decorations enhanced with gold evoke the silk road and the conviviality of the Orient.
