A family silversmith founded in 1820, Puiforcat moved towards goldsmithery at the end of the 19th Century. In the 1920s, Jean Puiforcat propelled the Maison to the forefront of goldsmithery by introducing pure, architectural forms from Art Deco into the family workshop. Bolstered by the expertise of their craftspeople, Puiforcat now works to reproduce the most beautiful pieces from its heritage, as well as to create the tableware classics of tomorrow in collaboration with contemporary creative minds – including artists, designers and architects.
Every day, Saint-Louis produces crystalware – lighting, tableware, decorations and exceptional pieces – created by glass-makers and craftspeople recognized to be among the Best Craftsmen in France. All of these craftspeople are custodians of a unique savoir-faire which has been enriched from generation to generation since 1586. Expertly blending tradition and innovation, the crystal used at Saint-Louis is mouth-blown, cut, engraved and decorated by hand.
