Since 1837, every Hermès saddle has been hand-made by a single craftsmen, then specially configured for its rider and horse under the guidance of our saddle expert.

Taking measurements with the saddle expert
The saddle expert takes measurements of the rider’s legs and their seated position on horseback, then measures their horse using the Equiscan®. This instrument records the exact curvature of the horse’s back. Our artisans can then make a saddle to your measurements that respects the horse’s wellbeing and the rider’s comfort, for optimal sporting performance.

Manufacturing by our artisans
Crafted by a single artisan in the workshop at 24, Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, each saddle requires nearly 30 hours of work and care. Since 1900, the saddles have all been numbered so they will never be forgotten. They combine the excellence of saddlery know-how, passed down from generation to generation, with the modernity of a sports accessory crafted with the finest leathers.

Hermès saddles perpetuate the house’s saddlery heritage and take an innovative approach, thanks in particular to the valuable feedback from Hermès partner riders. A mix of established champions and young hopefuls, they all share the house’s love of the sport and of horses.
