L’École Hermès des savoir-faire
Descended from a line of artisans, Hermès places particular emphasis on the transmission and continuous development of its exceptional know-how.
On 6 September 2021, the house opened the École Hermès des savoir-faire apprenticeship training center, accredited by the French Ministry of Education, providing a training course sanctioned by a national diploma in leatherwork (CAP Maroquinerie). Following this, in 2022, the school received accreditation from the French leather goods federation to offer professional qualifications (CQP) in cutting and stitching.
The École Hermès des savoir-faire operates alongside the house’s manufactures, all located in regional hubs across France. Training is provided by artisans who working on the production site, anchoring this provision in the company and promoting the transmission of know-how, expertise, and a passion for craftsmanship.
The École Hermès des savoir-faire is open to people of all backgrounds who aspire to becoming artisans and developing their manual skills, training apprentices in a profession of excellence. Once qualified, they can, if they wish, join one of the group’s nineteen leather goods workshops.
