British designer Jasper Morrison has imagined a table, a chair and an armchair that are light and simple. On closer inspection, the shapes of these three objects reveal their surprising complexity. Saddle-stitched leather seat pads, ingeniously inserted into the openings on the chairs, further enchance their comfort.
Objects for Interior life
This year’s collections for the home focus on furniture. Tables, chairs and armchairs with simple shapes feature an abundance of finishing details. The mind and the hand transform the material through the artisan’s unique and innovative know-how. Functional and vital furniture and objects adorn interiors with neutral or bright tones, permeate and structure the space and forge a strong bond with our interiors.
The horse has style with Hippomobile
For this fun and playful tea service, Gianpaolo Pagni has imagined a monochrome horse dressed in graphic friezes evoking jockeys’ silks. A horse wraps itself around a teapot, another extends across three plates, while a pattern rises from the inside of a cup... The designs combine, go together and adapt to all uses and all times of day – from breakfast to tea or a light snack.
Familiar pieces
Season after season, the home collections are reinvented and withstand the test of time. From furniture to lighting, textiles to games, objects to tableware, function dictates form and material.
From project to finished object, complementary skills come together harmoniously. Whether everyday companions or exceptional pieces, the objects stand out for the unique way in which they meet every requirement.
Équilibre d'Hermès
Hippodrome d'Hermès
The Hippodrome d’Hermès coffee table by French design duo Normal Studio combines a rectangular tabletop in oiled oak featuring aircraft wing profiles and an oval lower shelf covered in creased and burnished bridle leather. A large architectural piece whose slender, recessed legs increase the impression of lightness.
Simple shapes and interplays of contrasts
The collections for the home are nourished by the soul and skill of the artisan, who exalts materials through know-how that combines tradition with innovation. Tables, chairs and armchairs with simple shapes offer an abundance of finishing details and structure the space. These objects embody a harmonious relationship between form, material and function.
Designed with its use in mind, each object becomes part of everyday life. It takes its place within the space and demarcates volumes. Porcelain know-how adds colour to portable tables. Delicately embroidered rugs present minutely detailed compositions in a very couture spirit. Plaids in airy fabrics with contemporary patterns are hand-woven according to traditional techniques.
From material to object
The intrinsic qualities of the material, its strength or suppleness, roughness or softness, invites a design or, on the contrary, constrains a shape or pattern. It is a key element of the creation process, dictating its requirements to shape and give live to the object.
Creative encounters
Developed under the aegis of deputy artistic directors Charlotte Macaux Perelman and Alexis Fabry, the collections for the home reveal the authenticity and diversity of their work with materials. Designers and craftsmen combine their skills and their attentive eyes to create distinctive, contemporary and innovative objects for the long term.
